MEMBERS TEACHING CLASSES:
Debbie Goodrow will be teaching beginner classes with Clinton Adult Education.
First class is scheduled to start September 24, and there will be two five week
classes.
Details will be left on message boards.
Diane Villano will be teaching 2 workshops at Guilford Handcrafts Center.

Jeff Dever at Brookfield Craft Center
Two day workshop will explore a wide variety of small scale holloware forms and
shapes in polymer clay created by using miniature form-building techniques.

====Call for Entries
2nd Annual Ugly Necklace Contest A Jewelry Design Competition with a Twist
Entries accepted until 3/15/04 at Land Of Odds www.landofodds.com
Yes, an ‘ugly’ necklace contest. You need to put together a well-designed,
functional, yet ugly
necklace. 1st prize is a $992.93 shopping spree at the Land of Odds website.
Runner up will have a prize of $399.07!
They need photos!
Judged by a panel from the Center for Beadwork & Jewelry Arts.
Judged on hideousness, shape, color and use of materials, functionality and
wearability, how
well the artist has show an understanding of good design principals (and how to
violate them!) to
achieve this ‘ugly’ end, and the quality of the accompanying poem.
10 finalists will be chosen. Those will be posted onthe website to be voted on.

semifinalists from the last contest.
=====Traveling Exhibit
Sharon will happily accept submissions to the Traveling Exhibit.
Please consider adding an item (or more!) to our display. This is a great way
for the
public to be exposed to polymer clay and it’s possibilities.

MINUTES FROM THE August 2003 MTG OF SCPCG
Due to communication and technical difficulties, at this time, there are no
minutes from the Aug Meeting.

or internet connection
is down…sorry…)
There were 12 members and one guest.
Diane Villano demonstrated faux slate and showed us a few other faux techniques
that she had published in Lark's latest book by Irene Dean, "Faux Surfaces
in Polymer Clay".

I hope nobody minds, but I'm gonna make a sales pitch for Jeff's class. There is
still room and this was one of the first, if not the first classes to fill up at
Rdale. This is a great opportunity to take the class with a lot more one on one
attention and no battles for oven space.
