December Potluck Lunch & Tag Sale Extravaganza 12/11/04
The more people who bring things in, the better the tag sale!!!
Tag Sale:
Members DONATE Polymer Clay/art/crafts related items to sell for $1
Bigger ticket items are raffled off.
Smaller items to be packaged into $1 value
Numbers are drawn, we line up.
Members select one item the first time around, then after a few turns the items are reduced to 2 for $1 and so on until the table is empty.

Potluck Lunch:
We all bring in something to share...
Nothing is assigned
We have plates, napkins, cups, etc.
If your dish will need serving utensils, please bring them. We can't keep food hot or cold, so keep that in mind.
Please bring drinks too if you can.
Bringing in copies of recipes is encouraged!

Demos:
January: Debbie Goodrow will give a demo on giving demos and teaching
February: Christy Sherman demo on making Kaleidoscopes
(If there is a demo you would like to see, or a demo you would like to give, please let us know)

Raffle-chain Raffle was won by Libby and she will be donating an item for the January Raffle.
2004 Beadstrand raffle will be held at the January meeting.
I CURRENTLY ONLY HAVE BEADS FROM 10 PEOPLE! That’s not good participation! PLEASE MAKE AN EFFORT to get your beads to me by January 10th.

=====Announcements
Congratulations to Diane Villano for her election to the position of VP of Education and Outreach of the National Polymer Clay Guild. Her vision, dedication, and attention to detail will be valuable assets to the National Guild. Diane will bring needed experience to the position and will be a great addition to the Board.

 

=====Call for Volunteers
We need volunteers for a few positions: Traveling Exhibit Coordinator, Promotion Coordinator, Website Assistant Please let Sharon or one of the guild officers know if you are interested.

MINUTES FROM THE OCTOBER 2004 MTG OF SCPCG
10/16/04

Meeting called to order at 12:10 pm
Lynne gave a demo on her shaded rose cane.
There were approximately 15 members in attendance. 0 guests (awaiting official count)

Grant Diffendaffer’s workshop next weekend. There are 20 people signed up. The class will run from 10am - 6pm. Libby, Diane & Sharon will bring ovens. The room will be open before (9am) and after the workshop for those who want to stay & play.

Bead Bazaar: Lynne brought the unsold merchandise with her today.
Grand total gross sales = $1587
Guild netted = $147.20
11 members submitted work and everyone sold something. We sold 110 items in all.
Earrings= 2%, Individual Beads = 23%, Other (books) = 2%, pins = 5%, bead sets = 57%

It was recommended that we buy lights for our display next year. IKEA was suggested as a possible source for inexpensive halogen lights.

Anyone wishing to purchase beads told please pay the artist directly.

Bottles of Hope: Tracy read a letter from the Rochester Relay for Life and a Thank You from the Northford Women’s Club.

Tracy did a very special workshop for kids undergoing chemo treatment. The woman she worked with will continue to hold workshops for the kids.

Sharon & Tracy will be updating the BOH Website and hope to include some of the thank you letters.

Raffle Chain drawing today. Sue Rankin donated a lovely Faux Stone Necklace (Polymer Pebbles?).

Anniversary Grab Bag Swap will be @ the break.

Libby won the raffle and will provide the item to be raffled in January.
