=====Request for Submissions

Dear Polymer Clay Artist,

Lark Books would like to personally invite you to share your latest polymer clay jewelry projects for possible inclusion in Katherine Aimones upcoming Polymer Clay Jewelry, to be published by Lark Books during the spring of 2006.

We are particularly interested in high-end, studio jewelry that features a variety of techniques (those both familiar and new to polymer clay). This book will have a high aesthetic, to appeal to jewelers interested in polymer clay, as well as polymer clay artists who want to make high-quality jewelry pieces.

We are accepting print-quality images (35 mm slides, transparencies, or high-resolution digital files on CD) for jurying by the author. You may submit up to five jewelry pieces, with a detail shot of each piece. Your images should be carefully labeled with your name and an image number (for example, 1, 2, and 3 for main shots and 1a, 2a, 3a for detail shots). If youre sending digital images, please refer to the digital submission guidelines for more information.

Please complete and return the attached entry form with your images. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your entry packet; international artists can include postal coupons for the return of their film.

The submission deadline is August 1, 2005. There is no entry fee. If your work is included in the book, youll receive full acknowledgement, a complimentary copy, and a 40% discount on additional copies of the book.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions. We look forward to viewing your work!

===== Minutes

MINUTES FROM THE APRIL 2005 MTG OF SCPCG 4/16/05

Meeting called to order at 11:05 am
Demo by Diane on Getting Published
13 members in attendance

Sharon has membership brochures for those who need them.

BOH-We are trying to arrange a BOH workshop at Laurel Gardens in Woodbridge. Former member Lucille Schacht has retired from clay and donated her entire studio supplies to the guild. We have a lot of clay we’ll need to condition. Sharon would like to do this twice, possibly 5/7 and 5/22, 10-5 PM. Sharon will email around to get an idea of who can come to which date.

The Relay For Life in Newtown is coming up and Tracy will be needing at least 100 Bottles of Hope, maybe more.

Tracy has been contacted by a woman in Holland who has been getting a BOH program going there.

Sharon needs people to demo at meetings. Let her know if you can volunteer or if you have requests.

Ravensdale 2006-August 6-13 2006. They are taking requests for teacher class proposal packets. Contact Jenn Dorian through the NWPCG Guild. Class proposals with slides are due June 15, 2005.

Fall Workshop-We are still looking for a teacher. Libby will contact Elise Winters and Julia Sober to check their availability for September or October dates. We will try to arrange 2 one day workshops instead of the whole weekend format.

The Grant Diffendaffer workshop received excellent reviews. Lynne and Christy brought examples of beads from the class.

Upcoming classes:
Jody is teaching PMC, location ?
Gerry is teaching PMC at her house.
Lynne has workshops scheduled in Rochester and NYC.
Diane has ongoing classes at Michael’s, North Haven and Guilford Handcraft Center.

If you have any classes coming up, please contact Lynne so she can put them in the newsletter.

Sharon still has wishlists, last call for your feedback.

Traveling Exhibit-Tricia is coordinator this year. Let her know if you have any ideas for locations or items to donate.

A discussion of purchasing glass bottles for BOH followed.

*Show & Tell followed
Meeting adjourned at 1:48 pm.
