BOH – Thanks for all the bottle donations today. Keep them coming! Tracy gets requests for bottles regularly and it is very helpful for her to have a supply of finished bottles. She has also been getting lots of contacts from Relay for Life Coordinators. Tricia is working on a list of regional contacts for referrals. So far she has had about 12 responses with 4-5 volunteer contacts. This is an ongoing project and Tricia hopes the number of volunteer contacts will grow as she continues to contact guilds.
Polymer Clay Express has once again offered a generous donation of supplies for the Bottles of Hope program. Thanks PCE!!!
UPCOMING BOH WORKSHOPS: 4/20 Northford Women’s Club, St Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Northford. Debbie, Wendy & Terry will be going. They are expecting 40-50 participants.
4/25 – Ivoryton Library. Tricia will be hosting.
Sharon has been contacted by a local parochial school concerning the possibility of running a workshop for 6-8th graders.
The Essex newspaper "Main St News" printed an article about the Ivoryton Workshop with photos of several bottles.
CLAY CONNECTION 2004: Diane passed out copies of the latest outline of guidelines. Coordinators of each area are responsible for delegating some of the work in their areas of responsibility.
Sharon has the initial organization & registration well in hand. Registration officially opens today.
Libby has started with promotion. Sharon has been contacting area guilds.
Demos – plan on 12 – 20, maybe space them out a bit to give people time in between. We need to decide upon "thank yous" . Maybe a special cane slice bead w/ a spring ring clasp to hook wherever? A schedule of demos will be posted at the retreat with time limits and spaces for people to sign up to demo at the retreat as well as in advance. Encourage handouts wherever possible.
Friday Night Activity – "Iron Chef Polymer"?? with commentary by Debbie? Everyone who wants to participate will get a secret ingredient and then will have 30 minutes (??) to an hour to create 2 different items. Possibly one wearable and one functional item. Terry, Marie & Lynne will coordinate.
Meeting adjourned at 2:27 pm.
