Not-A-Newsletter June 2004 |
=====Suggested agenda for June 19, 2004
=====Looking Ahead
=====Announcements
Welcome to new member Mary Ann
Gilman from Haddam.
Her sister Jane Pevich was also at the meeting and plans to join the guild.
Welcome back Dee Dowling!
Both Polymer Clay Express and Puffinalia will be accepting pre-orders for Clay ConneCTion supplies. These vendors will be on-site at the retreat. You can pre-order supplies by visiting their websites: www.polymerclayexpress.com and www.puffinalia.com
=====Craft/Art Show opportunities:
Most artists will be juried into the show by slides, and Barbara can provide
anyone who desires an individual booth an entry form. However, if the
guild, instead, wants to have a booth showing and selling members work, it can
be arranged that without going through the jury process, but someone would have
to be at the booth to handle the sales.
People who need an entry form can send Barbara an email with their
address, or hopefully, she can bring some to the June meeting.

Diane: everything seems to be going along well. The insurance is all set. The massage therapist has been confirmed.
Sharon: Confirmation packets are ready. Those few members who have already registered will get theirs today. Others will be mailed out shortly.
Nametags – Lynne & Marie will be getting together to work on this soon.

Fri night activity – Iron Chef Polymer – Tracy will be working on this.
Sat night activity - ?? Debbie, Terry, Marie & Lisa will plan something??
Bead Strands – We will be asking for donations so that we can make 2 bead strands, 1 to raffle and 1 to keep with the traveling exhibit. Lynne is coordinating.

Raffle Chain Raffle – Libby won the last raffle and has provided a necklace & earrings plus a copy of Bead & Button magazine. Tickets will be sold during the break
Bottles of Hope – Northford Women’s Club Workshop was run by Debbie & Wendy. Should someone follow up to keep them going?
Ivoryton Library Workshop run by Tricia also went well. 12 attended and 32 bottles were made which went to Casting for Recovery.
Tracy continues to be contacted by Relay for Life Coordinators wanting to learn more about the program. She is working with the Newtown RFL and hosting 2 workshops. Anyone who can make BOH please send them to Tracy!
The idea was presented to hold a "training" workshop to teach people how to run a BOH workshop and continue spreading this on their own.
Tricia is continuing to compile a list of regional contacts.
Tracy was contacted by a new polymer clay guild in Brazil, 12 members who are making BOH.
The suggestion was made to include some excerpts of letters Tracy has received on the BOH website.
Rings & Things Trunk Show is Sunday, June 20 at the North Haven Holiday Inn
Lisa Gauthier won the raffle and will be providing the next item to raffle in July.
Wendy, Gerry & Libby have pieces in the current Guilford Handcraft Center exhibit.
Lynne won last month’s PCC Challenge. The theme was "Beads".
Lynne will be coordinating a bulk buy of Papermate Flexgrip Ultra pens if anyone is interested please contact her.
The Traveling Exhibit will be in Madison this month. Please consider loaning the guild some items to keep the exhibit fresh.
