The Millennium Garden Workshop is a two day technique oriented class on a number
of different procedures that teaches the student to make a flawless, shiny, deep
layered translucent bead!
It covers some bead shapes, basic flower cane making, basic leaf cane making,
reducing without waste, slicing thin layers, layering canes for depth, baking,
sanding and polishing.
Everyone will share a piece of their flower canes so that each bead will appear
to have a beautiful English garden floating in it.
The techniques learned in this workshop are geared to improving all your caning
and bead making, as well as give you a better understanding of working with
translucent clays.
"Clay Characters For Kids" by Maureen Carlson
Published by North Light Books
Don¹t be fooled by the title of this book, it isn¹t just for kids. Anyone who
wants to learn to sculpt adorable fairies, bugs and critters will find what they
need here in a clear user friendly format. The book is lively and beautiful to
look through. What sets Maureen¹s work apart from other books of cute
characters is her mature sense of color and design. The last section of the book
is a story with instructions for making each character as the story unfolds.
What a great idea! When the story is done, your child,(well, OK, maybe you!)
will have a whole cast of characters to ready for further adventures of your own
design.
Bottles of hope are featured in a half page ad in the new Polymer Café
Magazine, right on page 1!
