---- Our Guild had great success at the Bead Bazaar this past year,
and we will be doing it again this year.
---- May 17-18-19 Relay for Life in Bethany at the
High School. Booth/tent being set up, intention is to give away 100-200 BoH to
runners, some of whom are Cancer Survivors. We need more completed BoH,
people!!!
----Volunteers will be needed, even if
you can offer just a few hours. Some jobs can be done long before the retreat,
some during the retreat.

International Festival of Arts and Ideas Visual Arts Multi Media Exhibition
"Coming Together" June 15 Thu July 15, 2002. Send 5 slides or Photos prints of
recent works (within 1 year) with artist statement to Arts Council of Greater
New Haven, 70 Audubon Street, New Haven, CT 06510, Attn.: Norma Toney Curator.
Slide label will contain: artist name, Title,medium,size. Slides will be
returned only with SASE. Submissions should be no larger than 48 w by 60L.
+++June 14, 2002 Artists, designers and creative people: Artspace invites
you to participate in a large-scale public art event and exhibition. A clear
plastic backpack is your vessel and your art space. Fill it with art and join us
to wear it and hang it at the Chamberlain Building, 50 Orange Street, on June
14th, 2002. Backpacks are free and available by stopping by Artspace, 220
College Street, with a $10 deposit to be returned at the opening wear-in. Or,
send a check for $15 deposit plus shipping and handling to Artspace, c/o

---Promotion Coordinator - someone to help
get the word out about the guild and our programs. We will have a separate
Bottles of Hope site later.
---We will need volunteers for the retreat. There
is always a need for volunteers. Let us know where you would like to
help.
We are still accepting additional items to
display. The display seems to have many ‘jewelry’ items. We’d like to show some
of the alternate uses of polymer clay. Any ‘other’ items are solicited, for
example -salt and peppershakers, -notebook covers, -serving ware with pc
handles, -curtain finials, -tiles, or anything else you can think
of.

24 was our Clay Day at GHC and brought us another new member. Tricia Hamel from
Deep River joined the guild. She has a shop, Collage Fine Handcrafts in Deep

= Registrations for Retreat are now
available!
=Members volunteered to post notices and email guilds about
retreat
=The Datebook/calendar issue has (finally!) been resolved. A check
for the full amount arrived via Fed-Ex and was deposited in the guild's bank
account. Thank you Diane for your diligence, and other guild members who advised
her.
="Relay for Life" in Bethel will have a BOH presence.Tracy VB will be
hosting a booth with Gini Frank Fisher, setting up tent there. It’s held
at Bethel High school. We need about 100 to 200 bottles for cancer survivors who
will walk in this race.
=Raffle chain item was made by Debbie Goodrow and was
won by Sharon Mihalyak, who will be providing the next offering for the raffle
in May!
=Thank you to Tracy Van Buskirk for a great demo of Faux Sandstone
last month!
